We are currently building a brand new specialist service based upon our very successful Decoy Farm model of support. We are hopeful that the service will be opening in summer 2018.
We are currently recruiting a new team for this exciting post in what will be a very specialist Nurse-led Learning Disability service about 6 miles North of Huntingdon.
As such we are now recruiting for full time staff nurses, approx 40 hours per week. Experience of working with behaviour that may challenge the service, as well as working with people with a learning disability and complex needs such as Autism and Epilepsy would be a huge advantage. The right motivation, values and personality is very important alongside an ability to lead a staff team and to implement specialist approaches to peoples support such as PBS, active support or intensive interaction.
The role will include providing specialist and quality bespoke support for people with a wide range of needs, including learning disabilities and complex support needs such as Autism, Epilepsy, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and those with behaviours that may challenge the service.
The ability to work using own initiative as well as working as part of a team will be essential. Most people living at the service will have complex needs and possibly a background of previous placement breakdown or other difficulties. Many people will also have been repatriated back into their home county. The reason we will employ both Learning Disability and Mental Health nurses is to ensure that the staff team have the knowledge and the skills to provide extensive support for the people who will live with us and to the support staff team in order to help prevent re-admission to hospital. Each person that we support will have a Named Nurse and key-worker(s) who will encourage, support and guide each individual to express choice and to set and accomplish personal goals. We understand that a relaxing environment, the attitude of all support staff and the quality of support received will go a long way towards promoting people’s successful outcomes.
At isiss, we passionately believe that all of the people we support, no matter how complex their needs, should not miss out on any opportunities in life, and as such your role will be to work as part of a team to help people to achieve their goals and dreams. Please note that an Enhanced DBS Certificate will be required, which will be paid for by the company.
