How to find us?

Lynfields location was selected specifically to take into account the anticipated needs of the people who will use the service. It was necessary to ensure easy access to other relevant facilities and the local community, whilst taking into account the need for privacy and for the building not to stand out as a specialist facility but to blend in as a part of the local community. Lynfield is located at Ditchingham, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, close to the historical town of Bungay, within easy reach of Norwich and all local amenities, sports centres, award winning beaches and the famous Norfolk broads to name but a few. Lynfield operates several house cars, including a wheelchair accessible car for the people we support to use to access the community, or people can bring their own vehicle if they prefer.

At Lynfield We passionately believe that all the people we support, no matter how complex their needs, should not miss out on any opportunities in life. In fact the people we support currently include a keen sailor, a swimmer, a musician, a volunteer for a dog rescue centre and a very keen gardener. We have seen time and again when given the right opportunities people overcome past obstacles and integrate into the local community. Within all of our isiss services we aim to help people to achieve anything that they want to do. Lynfield has recently added to the excellent facilities and we now boast a sensory room to aid rest and relaxation, and a top of the range hydrotherapy pool which people can use with the assistance of staff to help them to keep fit, exercise or just to have fun.

Each person we support has a named key-worker(s) who will encourage, support and guide each individual to express choice and to set and accomplish personal goals. At Lynfield, a skilled, dedicated and friendly staff team are led by our highly experienced and passionate Home Manager, Mandy Hembling. They all work tirelessly to balance the need to safeguard those we support, against actively encouraging positive risk-taking so the people we support can make their own constructive choices, enabling them to take part in the activities that they specifically want to do.

At Lynfield our vision is to deliver care and support to the individual in the way that they want it, with the assistance of outside agencies and families this ensures that we deliver the best care and support possible to all those that we support here. In order to build confidence and increase ability and self- sufficiency, we support the people who wish to participate in education and skills development programs and to take part in wide ranging leisure and community activities. The key worker will also work with the individual to develop daily living skills and community activities and will be responsible for taking the lead role in linking with Care Management, Health Professionals and the family of the person we support. Food & Menu

Our food menu Lynfield

We often don’t work to a set menu, instead, we provide individual meals according to people’s choices on the day. The kitchens and dining rooms are always a hive of activity and we always encourage people to be part of this. All our homes have a kitchen that is fully equipped to be used by the people we support with appropriate support from staff for people to be able to make or help to make, their own meals in their own way. We take training and cleanliness very seriously and all the staff who assist with food preparation have achieved their food standard qualifications.

We serve three main meals a day interspersed with snacks as and when people wish.  Everyone always has a choice when it comes to meal times and the staff will always assist the people we support to prepare the meal of their choice (according to special dietary requirements and within the bounds of what is appropriate). We can cater for individual food requirements and special dietary needs. Meal times always create a buzz around the services and the kitchens and dining rooms are always a hive of activity.
